The Quality Director leads and supports and should have excellent people skills. The Quality Director interfaces with plant quality managers, quality engineers and more. The Quality Director acts as a champion for quality across the organisation. Skilled in performance improvement, they will provide technical expertise on quality and management issues, assist engineering staff to develop product specifications, including SPC and Quality DOE. Oversee the day to day responsibilities of quality of products processes. Instilling industry best practices they nurture the internal capabilities to fully support a change culture, and direct quality support staff to plan and implement effective quality control methods for product and service performance, appropriate data collection, analysis and procedures for corrective actions. Sometimes developing the companies quality manual and ensuring the Quality Management system will meet the latest guidelines such as ISO 9001:2000 standards.
