ARE YOU A CUSTOMER FACING PROJECT ENGINEER WANTING THE STEP UP TO PROJECT MANAGER – DO YOU ENJOY NPI SUPPORT, COACHING, TRAINING AND CLASSIC PROJECT ENGINEERING? ARE YOU SKILLED IN PLANNING & SCHEDULING? Our Herts based client is seeking a special kind of Project Engineer a person who can really rise to the occasion and have the necessary people skills to take the technical lead in Engineering projects. Possessing broad engineering experience and savvy with customers you should be capable of delivering project plans and dealing with customers. Ideally possessing some people management experience (though not a deal breaker) as you will have 2-3 direct reports (design engineers) working on CAD systems. Technically you need to be-able to take technical lead and have a clear understanding of broad engineering principles encompassing mechanics and pneumatics. It is essential you have Project management experience and can plan and use critical paths.
It would be useful if you know how to produce and integrate with MRP. Skills in solidworks or similar 3D CAD will also be useful. You must have excellent customer facing skills as will be working very closely with customers, picking up product range – design, procurement, testing, and customer acceptance – this is a role with serious variety and a unique opportunity to travel to the far reaches of the world
It is likely you will have an Msc or PHD in Engineering or related discipline.
